"Ugly Christmas Sweater" is about embracing your personal holiday traditions, even if they're kind of weird or embarrassing, and especially if the people you share them with are completely nuts. The original inspiration for the song was, of course, those amazingly tacky Christmas sweaters that everyone has in the back of their closets, but it ended up morphing into a love song. How wonderful is it when you find someone who loves you for who you are, wacky quirks and all? Now that's some real "Ugly Christmas Sweater" spirit!
